Hospitalist
Responsible for the admission, care and discharge of unassigned patients admitted to the Hospitalist Services; teaching the Intern/Residency Program (6-8 hours /week); maintains the Standards of the Department of Internal Medicine; promotes high quality, cost effective care based on the best medical evidence; utilization of Care Management initiatives such as Clinical Pathways, standardized orders and discharge summaries; participate in Hospital Committees as needed; participate in data collection to assess patient care and satisfaction studies; make best efforts to keep current with developments in internal medicine, medical management and related areas through CME Programs, medical literature review and Medical Staff conferences. Hospitalists shall conduct themselves in conformity with the HIPAA and Corporate Compliance Programs and Medical Center policies and procedures for patient privacy and shall conduct themselves in conformity with Information Security policies and procedures.
Licensed to practice medicine in New York State required. Must be Board Certified or Board eligible within 3 years and predominantly trained in Internal Medicine. Must possess teaching ability and be BLS and ACLS certified.
BLS/ACLS/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:
1. American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
2. American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
No online programs from any organization will be accepted
