Material Coordinator
Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center is a 537- bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. The Materials Coordinator is responsible for the daily receiving, stocking, storing and monitoring of all Storeroom Stock for the operating room.Maintains an accurate and orderly inventory.Performs the required transactions to document the activities.Serve as an information source to the OR staff regarding materials and supplies.Is a liaison between the hospital's Storeroom and the Operating Room.This position does not provide direct patient care.
Receives and stores operating room STOCK ordered through Lawson
Monitors and maintains appropriate par levels
Adequately stocks OR Storage Rooms and Supply Carts
Orders non-stock products and materials as necessary
Checks expiration dates and rotates stocks
Checks receiving invoices against purchase orders for discrepancies
Information to OR staff regarding materials and stock
Performs required transactions (paperwork/computer work) to document activities.
Assists Buyer as required
High School Graduate or equivalent
Strong Computer skills, with basic barcode scanner skills
Prior Operating Room/Hospital experience preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
